Teletherapy with Sonder Therapy Group: Your Convenient Path to Therapeutic Support

Here’s an alternative to in-person therapy.

Therapy is an important consideration. You wish that you had time to receive therapy, but there are reasons you can’t attend in-person sessions.

Driving to sessions is not easy because of transportation difficulties. Parenting obligations or work make it challenging to attend a scheduled session.

Perhaps, you prefer not to enter a therapist’s office and would rather keep things private.

Well, you are in luck. We offer teletherapy as an option for individuals outside of the San Diego area or for whom coming into the office presents difficulties.

Teletherapy provides many benefits.

If there was one professional bright spot to come out of the pandemic and quarantine, it was the discovery of how genuinely impressed with the therapeutic experience of providing teletherapy for our clients we were.

The added perks that teletherapy offers, such as being able to share online resources like helpful videos or articles right there in session creates such a dynamic experience.

Teletherapy can make it easier to attend therapy without traveling to the office. Sessions use a secure, confidential video link. Whether online therapy is appropriate depends on your location, clinical needs, privacy, technology, and clinician fit. Before your first session, choose a quiet private space and test your internet connection, camera, and audio.

California residents only. The client must be in California at the time of the session.

For best results, we have a few suggestions.

Find a quiet place free from interruptions. You will need a laptop, desktop, cell phone, or iPad to allow visual contact.

We ask our clients to make space for the hour of therapy. We recommend they buffer their therapy hour beforehand to ground themselves in preparation and afterward to integrate and think about what they processed. You can do this by taking a short walk, journaling, turning off all screen time, sitting quietly, or going for a short drive around the neighborhood.

Teletherapy may be for you.

If you feel like we’d be a good fit for you as a clinician, but coming into the office could be difficult, we’d like you to consider giving teletherapy a shot.
